In fact, I’m constantly talking about how great Melomano is to all of my friends. This is a great studio if you’re looking to learn Salsa and Bachata in a friendly environment. The instructors are highly knowledgeable, and the members at Melomano are very friendly. In addition to the dance lessons, they host fun dance socials, as well as other events like Super Bowl parties and Karaoke Nights. Patrick and Diana have really created an amazing community. I went from never dancing Salsa/Bachata in my life (I had never even heard of Bachata before) to now spending 5-6 days a week dancing. They’ve got a variety of classes/levels throughout the whole week and weekend. I would encourage everyone to look into the Cycle memberships. The Cycles are a 2-month progressive “course” where you build on what you learned in previous weeks. So you’re in it with the same group of people/cohort, which is also really nice. If you’re enrolled in a Cycle, you get unlimited access to both Salsa and Bachata classes, which is AMAZING value if you take advantage of all their offerings! If you’re new to dancing and wondering which class to take, I found Kevin’s Level 1 Salsa/Bachata classes on Saturdays to be an excellent choice. He breaks it down really well for newcomers. But check out all the instructors/classes for the level you’re at, because they’ve all got different teaching styles and methods, and one may click better for you. Also, shout-out for Amado’s classes - they’re a fan favorite!!

If you’re looking for a place to learn salsa and bachata, get some great exercise, and have a blast while doing it, this is the spot.

Still mastering level 2 Salsa for over a year and my skills are shown on the dance floor. I couldn't have gotten to these level without great partners and the friends ive made in this community. Since I first stepped in the door Patrick, Dianna, Kevin. Valentin & Analisa have helped so much I also started to bring my 2 teenager to class and they are enjoying their growth! Thank you so much for all the love, the support and ofcourse the dancing! Always a bit of humor, mostly fun and education in etiquette and style. Melomano has very competitive course as well and monthly plans for anyone who wants to submerge into Salsa and Bachata. With a few new styles and experienced instructors you are in the right place! The teachers are passionate and they really do care about all their students. The studio space is also one of the largest in SD which makes it so nice to dance in. Honestly the list goes on. My dancing has already improved so much. I love having the different levels so that you can focus on technique and avoid staying stagnant in your dancing. I always recommend this studio now to all my dancer and nondancer friends and everyone has loved it. I’m so grateful to finally be in such a safe, joyful, welcoming dance community! Melomano, with its most infectious directors and teachers, has created a space and community where you can get as much as you desire of both – growth, and joy. Seriously, I am at the studio at least 5 days a week, learning something new in every class, and I have yet to catch any of the instructors on a "bad day" when they don't radiate their joyous passion for dance or come up with a new way to explain the same thing I've been drilling for a while. Thank you Patrick and Diana, and all Melomano instructrs, for creating and maintiaining this environment, and every dancer on Melomano social dance floor for sharing those joyous moments song after song!

Patrick and Diana, the directors of the studio, have already helped me become a better dancer than I ever thought I could be. They have built a community that really feels like a family and makes the studio feel like home. If you really want to improve your dance fundamentals and make some awesome friends along the way, I recommend joining one of their performance teams. They are my favorite offering at the studio :)

That just felt so special to me and I am still impressed by it every single time. I love them so much because of that. Then for the dance and learning part, the structure of their classes are amazing. The cycles really focus on repetition and learning the details and your form from day one and I don’t know any studio or instructor that offers anything similar to that. And then there are the different level classes and styling classes that you can take as a supplement to the cycles to learn some fun patterns or improve your technique and styling. They also offer amazing performance teams for different levels that just takes everything to another level. All the instructors are absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. I am so grateful I found them and cannot imagine life without them! Highly highly recommend them to anyone at any dance level.

The way Melómano structures their Cycles, or progressive lessons, really helped me understand the fundamentals and build a good foundation for more intermediate classes. I've been taking classes and performing with Melómano for almost 5 years now, but I've been attending their socials since the beginning, and Melómano definitely hosts the best Salsa & Bachata socials in San Diego. I've taken so many incredible, unique workshops from guest instructors that Melómano has been able to invite to teach at their socials. The energy and music is always amazing all night long!

The instructors know their stuff, but they teach it in a way that doesn't make you feel like you're back in school. It's all about having fun while you learn. My dancing's gotten way smoother, and I've picked up so many cool dance patterns. If you're into dancing or just want to give it a shot, Melómano Dance is where it's at. I feel confident as a beginner in bachata to go out to any social and have a fun time because of their instruction. I’m excited taking their Salsa on 2 cycle 1 as I I know they will set me up for success in this style as they did with bachata. The amount of authentic support and encouragement displayed by everyone there is something you have to experience for yourself, you’ll truly be glad you did. I love training at this dance studio! This is an updated review today 6/17/25. This dance studio has the best kindest professional latin dance instruction in San Diego county. I've been training for about a year now and performed on the ladies stying, bachata team on Saturday for the 11th anniversary debute. Somehow, I left my phone there with money in it and a credit card. By monday early afternoon, my husband picked up my phone with everything still with it. Where do you see honest people like this? That you don't have to worry If you lose something, they will give it back to you? I love this family dance company and you should check it out if you want to get some professional training in latin dance.

They have a way of explaining them that I still haven't heard anywhere else. The dancers here are also much better than any other dance company so you'll learn quick! If you're a beginner, don't let the difficult classes scare you away. Some days will feel challenging and other days will be more mellow. Give it at least a month, you will be surprised how much you learn. Also remember, if you're struggling with a pattern, you're never the only one. Highly recommended!

They also offer dancing cycles with focus on technique and footwork at multiple different levels. They also hold socials frequently, which is fun and a great place to practice. Finally, by registering for a cycle (Bachata or salsa) which cost $85, we have unlimited access to all classes (Bachata and Salsa) of all levels! I highly recommend this place.
