This policy explains what Melómano Dance and Entertainment (“Melómano,” “we”) collects through melomano.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions about it are welcome at info@melomano.com.
What we collect
When you send us a message
The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. We send it to the studio’s inbox through an email delivery service, so we can reply; the website itself keeps no copy. Your network address is used briefly to keep the form from being flooded.
When you join the mailing list, book, or buy
The mailing list sign-up, class and event booking, memberships, private lesson appointments, and payments are provided by Momence, the studio’s booking system. What you enter there goes to Momence and to the studio’s Momence account, where we use it to run your classes and send the emails you signed up for. Momence’s privacy policy applies to it too.
When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. With cookies, it records the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location. Google handles this under its privacy policy; see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The site runs on a server at a hosting provider, behind a network that carries the site’s traffic and keeps copies of its pages to deliver them quickly. Both process your network address and the details of each request to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. A media delivery service delivers our videos and gallery photos.
The site also remembers, in your browser, when you closed the top bar message or the mailing list pop-up, so they stay closed for a while. These settings are not used to identify you.
Videos, maps, and booking forms from other services
Some pages show YouTube videos, in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, a Google map of the studio, and booking forms from Momence. When these load, your browser connects to those services, which receive your network address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Photos, posts, and reviews on the site
The site shows photo albums from the studio’s Facebook Page, posts from its Instagram account, videos from its YouTube channel, and reviews of the studio from Google, with each reviewer’s public name and profile picture. To bring these in, the site connects to Meta and YouTube with the studio’s own accounts, which only studio staff sign in to, and reads the studio’s public Instagram posts and Google reviews. Visitors never sign in to the site with Facebook, Instagram, or Google, and the site receives no information about visitors from them.
If you appear in one of our photos, or wrote one of the reviews, and want it off the site, email us and we will take it down.
How we use information
- To reply to your messages and questions.
- To run classes, bookings, memberships, and events, and to send the emails you asked for.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To keep the site and the studio’s accounts secure.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, and the site still works. To keep Google Analytics from measuring your visits anywhere, use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Studio staff who sign in to the site’s admin also get a cookie that keeps them signed in.
Delete your data
To see, correct, or delete information we hold about you, email info@melomano.com and tell us what you would like done: a message you sent, a photo of you, your review on the site, or your mailing list subscription, for example. We will reply to confirm once it is done. If a booking or payment record has to be kept for accounting or legal reasons, we will tell you.
You can also unsubscribe from our mailing list with the link in any of its emails, and manage your Momence account with Momence.
If you connected Facebook or Instagram to this site: only studio staff do this, to bring in the studio’s own photos and posts. To end the site’s access, remove our app from the apps and business integrations listed in your Facebook or Instagram settings. Then email us, and we will delete everything we stored from that connection.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Keeping and protecting information
We keep messages and records only as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as the law requires, and we limit access to the studio staff who need it. The site uses encrypted connections, but no website or email is perfectly secure, so please don’t send payment card numbers or other sensitive details through the contact form.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
