Katarina Guillot is a dancer, choreographer, performer, and student based in San Diego, California. Born in Antigua, Guatemala, she grew up in a multicultural household where she was encouraged to learn baile folklorico and other cultural dances native to the areas she lived in.

At the age of 5, Katarina began classical training in ballet at the Sacramento Ballet Dance Company. For seven years, she studied, performed, and grew as a ballet dancer until she moved away to boarding school in 2013.

At boarding school, she directed the Verde Valley School contemporary dance team in Sedona, Arizona. From her sophomore to senior year, she choreographed every performance piece presented at her school showcases. During that time, she also participated in every spring musical theater show, choreographing several numbers featured in the productions.

After high school, Katarina decided to take a gap year in Ecuador, where she joined Magic Dance Company. There, she expanded her dance knowledge by studying hip hop, tutting, and electric dance.

Upon returning, Katarina was introduced to the Latin Dance Community. She studied with Yemaya Dance Company and took numerous online courses in ladies’ styling and footwork.

While attending college, she founded the first-ever Bachata club at Lewis and Clark College. Shortly after, she met Edwin Martinez and co-founded Secreto Dance Company, a fusion bachata team based in Sacramento.

Katarina is unique, passionate, and driven. In the years to come, she hopes to continue teaching and expanding the Latin dance community.
