General Information

What should I wear to class?

For our dance classes, we recommend wearing comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely. Popular options include leggings, fitted t-shirts or tank tops, and joggers or similar casual wear. For shoes, it’s best to wear those with semi-smooth soles to prevent sticking or slipping on the dance floor. This will help you move with ease and maintain good form during your lessons.

What should I bring to class?

We suggest bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated during your class, as well as a small towel if you anticipate breaking a sweat. Comfortable shoes suitable for dancing are also important, as they help you move smoothly and avoid injury. Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn—these are key to making the most out of your dance experience at Melómano.

Can I take multiple classes at the same time?

Cycles, Teams, and Private Lessons

How can I improve faster?

If you’re looking to improve your dance skills quickly, there are several effective options. Private lessons offer personalized attention, immediate feedback, and a curriculum tailored to your pace and style, making them ideal for mastering specific techniques or preparing for performances. Additionally, joining a structured dance cycle provides consistent, progressive learning, helping you build skills over time. Being part of a performance team also accelerates improvement by challenging you to refine your technique and perform at a higher level.

What is the difference between drop-in group classes and dance cycles?

Drop-in group classes are flexible sessions that allow you to attend any class without prior commitment. They are perfect for students who have varying schedules or who want to try out different styles before committing to a specific class. On the other hand, dance cycles are structured, progressive courses designed for consistent improvement over a set period. Each session builds on the previous one, ensuring steady progress and a deep understanding of the dance style. Dance cycles are ideal for those looking to enhance their skills with continuity and commitment.

Why should I join a dance cycle?

Joining a dance cycle at Melómano offers several significant benefits. First, you gain unlimited access to group lessons at your level, allowing you to attend as many classes as you like within the cycle. The structured nature of the cycles ensures that each session builds on the last, leading to consistent and steady progress. Regular attendance helps you master techniques more effectively than sporadic visits.

Are there any performance opportunities?

Yes, we provide numerous performance opportunities for students who want to showcase their skills. Our performance teams regularly participate in local events, socials, and dance festivals, giving you the chance to perform in front of live audiences and take your dance experience to the next level.

What’s the advantage of joining a performance team?

Joining a performance team at Melómano provides a unique opportunity to refine your dance skills in a more focused, goal-oriented setting. As part of a team, you’ll work closely with our experienced instructors, participate in regular rehearsals, and prepare for performances at local events, socials, and dance festivals. This experience not only helps you improve your technique but also allows you to enjoy the thrill of performing in front of an audience, building confidence and stage presence.

When do you have performance team auditions?

Performance team auditions are held at various times throughout the year. To find out when the next auditions are being held, please text us at 619-675-8602 or check our website and social media for updates.
